a charge...connection

“Love is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone–we find it with another.” ― Thomas Merton

Over the last few months, we've been sharing four valo ways of being here in our newsletter...

These tenets are our guiding lights. They help define who we are on retreats, and in the world.

In November, we dove into curiosity, and before that we unpacked vulnerability and openness. This month, we'd like to explore connection.

Connection is the act of joining, linking, or sharing. It strengthens our relationships, communities, and world.

As humans, the need for connection is built into our DNA. It is essential for emotional wellbeing and keeps us open to the thoughts and ideas of others. Connection itself is essential for healthy friendships, families and lives–and the pandemic has only heightened our need for it.

As we look ahead to the next month, how can we prioritize connection with others? Can we ask the cashier about their day while they scan veggies? Call up an old friend just to chat? Listen fully and ask questions as a family member who shares something vulnerable over dinner?

We'd love to have you join us as we explore these questions ourselves and keep the idea of connection on the forefront of our minds during the next few weeks. Come along?
