“Listen with curiosity. Speak with honesty.
Act with integrity.”
– Roy T. Bennett
Over the next few months, we're exploring four valo ways of being here in our newsletter...
These tenets are our guiding lights. They help define who we are on retreats, and in the world.
Last month we dove into vulnerability and the month before that, openness. In november, we're going to explore the third guiding light, curiosity.
Curiosity is the basic human desire to learn or know something. Maybe it's picking up the guitar to teach yourself a favorite tune. Or asking a question to a friend over coffee–or an acquaintance you've met on the bus.
Curiosity drives us to explore, discover, and question. It can lead to deeper conversations and connections within our communities and ourselves.
As we look ahead to the next month, how can we lean into our curiosity? Can we ask questions over dinner? Set aside time to learn something new? Listen fully to someone who is facing challenges or celebrating an accomplishment.
We'd love to have you join us as we explore these questions ourselves and keep the idea of curiosity on the forefront of our minds during the next few weeks. We hope you'll wonder alongside us. Come along?
